So how does it work?
After you answer a few personal questions such as age, resting heart rate, current activity level and fitness goal; the HRC Planner creates a customized 21- to 24-week program with a progressive increase in workout intensity and duration. Since the ES features our patented HRC technology, the treadmill has the unique ability to automatically adjust the speed and grade to keep you at your selected target heart rate. In essence, the treadmill does the work for you. You’ll stay motivated - while systematically improving your fitness level.

Where Do HRC Planner’s Workouts Come From?
HRC Planner uses the exercise prescription guidelines in ACSM’s Guidelines for Exercise Testing and Prescription, widely regarded as the most trusted and authoritative guide in the fitness industry. (Specifically, HRC Planner is based on pages 145 – 155 of the Sixth Edition (2000), most specifically from table 7-4 on page 154.)
