  • What does "S1 Lube" and "S2 Clean" mean?
  • S1 Lube - is a prompt to remind you to lubricate your belt and deck. The "S1 Lube" prompt is a timed message. Order Lube

S2 Clean - is a prompt to remind you to wipe the sweat or dirt (which can be corrosive to exposed metal) off of your machine to help prolong the life of your machine. This message appears every 500 miles.

  • What do I do if an error message appears on my TRUE treadmill?
  • First determine which error message it is, and contact the dealer you purchased your unit from or an authorized TRUE service provider.

To clear the error code you must cycle the unit power switch off and on 6 times, with the safety key inserted.

Call your dealer or authorized service company if the error persists.

  • What does it mean when my treadmill display shows "TRUE" or "---" and will not respond?
  • When "TRUE" or "---" is displayed on your TRUE treadmill control panel, it generally means your safety key has been disengaged. Reinsert the safety key and you should be ready to go.

  • Is there any maintenance I need to be doing to my equipment?
  • Yes, some preventative maintenance will prove to be helpful in prolonging the life of your equipment. Some of the things you can do to prolong the life of your equipment are:

TRUE Treadmills: Lubricate the belt and deck. Refer to the lubricating schedule found in the owner's manual. Use only TRUE authorized lubricant.

Wipe machine down with a moist towel after your workout to prevent premature rusting (sweat is corrosive to metal surfaces and may cause rusting over time).

TRUE Bikes: If it has a 3-piece crank, check/tighten crank arm bolts about once a month to prevent noise issues.

TRUE Ellipticals: Tighten cranks every 3 months. Keep tracks clean and free of debris.

  • How does a residential machine differ from a commercial machine?
  • Residential units are for home use only. They are designed for lighter use.

Light Commercial units are generally used in apartments, hotels, & condominiums. They designed for 4-6 hours of use per day.

Commercial units are generally used in gyms or higher use facilities. They are larger and have been designed for 6-8 hours of use per day.

  • What do I do if my belt starts to track off to one side?
  • You can adjust your treadmill belt accordingly by following these procedures:

! Use Caution anytime you are working on moving mechanical equipment.

NOTE: Adjustments must be made with the belt running at approximately 5mph.

    1. First you need to determine which direction the belt is tracking.

    2. Always use the left rear roller bolt to make adjustments. (The left side is referenced from the users left side while walking on the unit in the forward direction.)

Next, you need to adjust the left rear roller bolt clockwise if the belt needs to move to the right and counter clockwise if it needs to move to the left.

NOTE: Never adjust the bolt more than one quarter of a turn at one time, leaving time between adjustments for the belt to respond.)

    3. Run the belt at approximately 5 mph and it should work its way back over.

NOTE: Only adjust as much as you need to keep the belt straight.

If you have to turn the bolt more than 3/4 of a turn, or if the adjustment doesn't stay, call a TRUE certified technician for assistance in making the adjustment.
